For the sake of formality, we have chosen the office bearers for Amity Ministry who will represent their departments, but, remember, Amity Ministry is all about equality and the office bearers are members just like you looking to do some social service.

I thank you whole heartedly for volunteering us with your time, money and energy with Amity Ministry, I like to specially thank Rahul from London, Rathan from Toronto and Cresy and Mariah Mouris from Melbourne for donating their hard earned money and thus being the primary donors of this event. I also thank Arun Balasubramaniam and Victor Vinoth from Cognizant Technologies; second year Visual communication(S1)[esp.Aravind] and third year Computer Science(S2) [esp.Asonth,Cyril,Dilip,Jayaselen and ramjee] students of Loyola College; Mrs Vimala and Mr.Rajesh from Triplicane,; Martin tony and Anand from Velachery for Donating their money, clothes and medicines. I promise you, its’ from your hands to their hearts.

I appreciate Gouthaman Karunakaran for his sincere and amazing work in the promotion of the event and in public relations; Aedy Aaron for organizing and managing the event, I know how hard he worked, and I am aware of the sacrifices he made; Christopher Vinoth for helping us a lot with the accounts and also for being my personal mentor; Vishnu Preethi for being the best offshore volunteer. I also appreciate Sabarish Venkatraman, the youngest Amitian.

I am indebted to Sabrina Selvarasan for helping with the texts and to Manoj Ashley for his timely advices to our cook Chef.vinodh for making the delicious lunch and the Auto rickshaw drivers who helped us in commuting on the day of the event when it really mattered.

My thanks extends to all the other members of the crew; to all the 95 who like our Facebook page, friends who shared about this event on their wall posts; members of the orkut community and to the friends who follow us in twitter.

I would like to announce that we have decided Sebastin Mowris as the best Volunteer of this event and finally, I offer my sincere apologies to Renuka ponmalar and Aarthi for all the inconveniences.

We’re almost done!!!

The members meet #2 went on well today and we’ve got a decent amount of funds and a lot of new members. I am writing this post to invite you all to the event on 4th July.

AMITY EVENT #3

Amitians after the Amity Members Meet on 13th June 2010

For the sake of convenience we have divided the responsibilities between the members. If you have anything to contribute, please contact the appropriate member below.

FOOD:

We have decided to have lunch with the kids at Shelter Homes on July 4th. So, We have decided to leave the responsibility to our members Christopher Vinoth and Sharanya.

EVENT MANAGEMENT:

Arun Dinesh, Sabarish and Jeshua have been given the responsibility of taking care of our event on July 4th. They have decided to perform exciting skits and Arun Dinesh is an expert in amusing the kids with his talent of coming in disguise. So, Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

TOYS:

Jeshua has also been given the responsibility of collecting toys from donors. So, If you have some toys to giveaway please let us know. We have dropped the plan of getting the kids a computer since they already have one.

CLOTHES:

Nigel takes care of collecting clothes from donors. I have to mention that we are in desperate need of clothes and it will be nice if you can help us out on this.

MEDICINES:

The Kids at Shelter Homes aren’t healthy like us fortunate people. They have HIV+ and medicines are required to keep these flowers from withering.

We are in dire need of the following medicines:

• Lasix 40 mg

• Aldoctone 25mg

• Envas 2.5 mg

• Digoxin 0.25 mg

• Asitrom 3 mg

• Parecetomol

Our Members Sharanya and Sabarish are in charge of Collecting medicines. Please let us know if you can donate them.

FUNDS:

Well, Though we get objects such as Medicines, Clothes, Toys we still need funds to help kids. We’d greatly appreciate it if you can donate us anything. Be it 1 Rupee or a Thousand. Every bit counts.

Suthan & Christopher are in charge of Funds. We have estimated that we will need at least Rs. 10,000/- (INR) to conduct this event in a grand manner. Your support, membership and donation is of atmost importance to us and We assure you that EVERY SINGLE PENNY YOU DONATE WILL REACH THE KIDS.

• What you can do?

If you are already a member of Amity Ministry, all you need to do is donate old computer parts/send in monetary donations. We’d be greatful to you if you can help us in any way. You may also want to contact us before donating. If that’s the case. Call Gouthaman at 80560 31691 and Suthan at 9894823401. We’d be more than happy to guide you in the process of donation. If you are donating a huge sum of money. We’ll be glad to check if it can be exempted under tax.

Here are some examples of what you can donate:

Old/New Computer Parts, Monetary donations, Stationery for school students, Clothing for kids either old/new but make sure it’s in a good condition, etc.

Hi y’all,
 
Amity Ministry here. We now announce that you can mail us at amity.ministry@gmail.com from today. We weren’t able to recover our old mail box and thought google would be a better option.
 
This mail is also to inform you that there’s a delay in our next event which was formerly proposed to take place on April 17, 2010. Most of our members now face their semester exams and we thought that it wouldn’t be a good idea to disturb them during exam fever. So, write your exams well and come back to us.
 
As of now, Anto Park (Arockia Suthan Maria Dallas) has planned to conduct the event in the month of June when the academic year begins again. We will all be fresh from our vacations and can put in our heart and soul and serve the children.
 
So, What next? Donations. Though we aren’t able to conduct the event this month we thought it would be great if we all can contribute more and have a super grand event in June. As of now, we will be needing Paint Brushes, Charts, Stationery, Clothes, etc. We are also looking to donate computers to the kids, so if you have something left behind from your old computer, why not donate it to the needy?
 
We are doing some wild promotions lately, but, we have received only a lukewarm response. So, we request you to tell your friends about Amity Ministry and convince them to help too. This way we can get more members and more help which is always welcome.
